As part of a significant redevelopment program, The P.A. People won a tender to provide new audio visual facilities for the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

The project involved the provision of fully automated lecture theatre systems for the Performance Workshop and the two new Recital Halls which include NEC projectors, Screen Technics motorised screens, AMX control systems, and custom lecterns manufactured by The P.A. People to a specification prepared by the conservatorium’s governing institution, the University of Sydney.

A unique feature of the project was the requirement for high quality music reproduction systems for each of the three new spaces and the refurbished historic Verbruggen Hall. The P.A. People, in conjunction with Glenn Leembruggen of Arup Acoustics, designed and fabricated custom speaker cabinets to provide a solution with a high degree of consistent pattern control down to 250Hz, essential to maintain even coverage, high fidelity and good intelligibility in these spaces designed primarily for acoustic music.
