… Sydney church receives full AV upgrade

Strathfield Uniting Church recently underwent a full AV upgrade; the new audio system includes a ‘simple mode’ and an ‘event mode’. The simple mode allows the minister or presenter to turn the system on – ready to use – at the push of a button, for a simple midweek meeting without the need for support from the technical crew. The event mode is used for larger events including full church services, where an operator is available to manage the signal levels for the band, for speakers and for the video system.

The P.A. People provided new video displays to support presentations and sermons. Three 84-inch LCD displays were specified, with two facing the congregation and one mounted on the rear wall of the church to be used as a fold back or confidence-monitor for people on the platform. The video system has input from the church computer to display song lyrics and for sermon support. This material is distributed to the three displays using HDBT technology over a cat 6 cable infrastructure.

A hearing augmentation system has been installed in the church to assist those members of the congregation who wear hearing aids. Speakers were also fitted into the other church classrooms so teachers could keep an ear on what is happening in the church.

The equipment installed at Strathfield Uniting Church included:
