Twenty years after the iconic Sydney Olympics, The P.A. People continues the legacy of Australia’s greatest sporting event. The P.A. People delivered many production and installation services for the Sydney Olympics, including the communications system for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies; permanent sound systems for the Olympic Stadium; many venues at the RAS showgrounds; The Velodrome and the Tennis Centre; the majority of the Venue Sports Presentation intercom systems at the competition venues; and all the non-competition venue Overlay Sound and Vision systems. The Company has built on the opportunity and has gone on to become one of the leading providers of Event Communications worldwide, providing systems at five Olympic Games, and is arguably Australia’s go-to vendor for the design and installation of sound systems in large venues. Now, more than ever, the experience and expertise we have developed over this period allows us to deliver systems, support and services to support remote production for virtual events simply and efficiently. Over the past few months, we’ve all become accustomed to a world where meetings are held in the virtual world of Zoom, Teams or Webex. We are all living and breathing in a virtual world, but while generic video conferencing applications are good for hosting a meeting that would otherwise be held in a boardroom or a huddle space, they do not lend themselves readily to applications that require more creative control over the format and content of the Event…
Upgraded System supports Netstrata Jubilee Stadium
Jubilee Stadium is the premium sporting venue in the Georges River Local Government Area, with capacity for 20,000 patrons. This year, the ground has been home to three major clubs including long term tenants St George Illawarra Dragons, alongside the temporally displaced Cronulla Sharks and the A-League’s Sydney FC. Council required a comprehensive solution to achieve a number of outcomes: improved audio coverage of the grandstand area, a better experience for patrons and corporate attendees, additional flexibility and ease of use for a range of hirers…
Historic Theatre renewal project
…The P.A. People delivers systems for the historic Rathmines Theatre in regional NSW
Rathmines Theatre, previously known as the Rathmines Community Hall, is located on the former RAAF Station Rathmines and is locally heritage-significant. The building was constructed in the 1940s and was used as a Picture Theatre and Gymnasium; it was vital in providing a recreational outlet for hundreds of men who spent time at the RAAF Station. “The historic nature of the project is something that interested our team – given our experience with heritage and culturally-significant venues over the years” said Chris Dodds, Managing Director for The P.A. People. We are delighted to have delivered the installation of new audio, av, comms and theatre systems in the refurbished Rathmines Theatre on behalf of Lake Macquarie City Council.

Our Service Department continues to support our broad base of customers on a daily basis. Our team is Covid Safe so our technicians carry and use face masks, gloves and hand sanitiser in order that we can continue to keep our valued customers functional and able to do their jobs. … on-field Bose ‘carts’ provide flexible audio solution for SFC revised Home Game schedule
As this years’ COVID-related disruption affected major sporting codes and their fixtures, the A-League and Sydney FC Home Game scheduling became more ‘fluid’ as venues, codesand their circumstances were impacted. The P.A. People Event Communications Team continued to assist SFC events with Comms and Audio support at their home games at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium and Leichhardt Oval, albeit with restricted audiences. Changing requirements and the League enforced COVID bubbles meant that on-field audio support required flexibility in positioning and format; once again, The P.A. People Bose ‘cart’ configuration was put to good use.
