The provision of services to all levels of Parliament is a role the P.A. People have fulfilled at both state and local level.

Our range of services at state level have included:

  • Chamber sound reinforcement for NSW Parliament, Victorian Parliament and ACT Legislative Assembly
  • Committee Room reinforcement for NSW Parliament and ACT Legislative Assembly
  • Media and Press systems for NSW Parliament and ACT Legislative
  • Video Projection for NSW Parliament
  • Hansard Recording Systems for NSW and Victorian Parliaments

At the local level we have provided systems for numerous local councils over the years including:

  • City of Sydney Council
  • Shoalhaven Council
  • City of Manningham Council
  • Burwood Council
  • Penrith Council
  • Hornsby Council
  • Liverpool Council
  • North Sydney Council

New South Wales Parliament House

The P.A. People have serviced and maintained the sound reinforcement systems for the NSW Legislature since 1983. Over the years we have seen the systems evolve from simple and crude mixers and basic paging amplifiers, to state of the art solutions based on the most modern of technology.

The P.A. People have also contributed to the provision of broadcast sound reinforcement and vision. This has seen the installation of new systems for the Legislative Assemby based on Peavey MediaMatrix and a FOR-A vision switcher, all under the control of an AMX touch screen control system.

During 1999 the sound reinforcement system was upgraded in the Legislative Assembly.  This required custom speakers for different locations within the chamber to be manufactured and installed.

Victorian Parliament

The P.A. People have completed two major contracts for the Hansard Division of the Victorian Parliament.

In mid 2000, The P.A. People won a contract to supply and install a new digital PC based voice recording solution for Hansard. The system provides segmented four track recording of both chambers of Parliament and two track recording of all committee rooms, along with additional continuous tracks for future use.

The MURF system was developed in Canada by VoiceIQ and is exclusively represented in Australia by The P.A. People. The P.A. People provided all hardware and software for the server based system along with installation and support.

In 2001, The P.A. People returned to Victoria to upgrade the sound reinforcement systems in the Parliament’s Upper Chamber.

Shoalhaven Council

The P.A. People have provided Shoalhaven Council with a number of solutions for their Council Chambers over the years.

These pictures depict the installation of a DIS conference discussion system installed in the early 1990’s. This system allows the councilors to effectively communicate with each other, as well as providing sound reinforcement and recording facilities.

Recently The P.A. People have designed and installed a comprehensive front screen projection system featuring twin NEC front screen data projectors, a JVC visualiser and input switching facilities for up to 12 laptop computers.
