Education Precinct – Meadowbank, Sydney
… stage equipment installation at new facility!
The growing community in the Meadowbank area is set to receive brand new, purpose-built education facilities by 2022. Building on the opportunity for Ryde to be a centre of excellence for education, the core area of the Precinct will feature new primary and secondary schools and improved TAFE NSW Meadowbank facilities (NSW Government).
Recently acquired company TheatreQuip (see other News), have been involved in the Project. “We were engaged to supply and install drapes and associated rigging for both the High school and Public school at this new landmark precinct” said Michael Rafferty, who now, with his company TQ has joined The P.A. People.
There were some challenges along the way, in what was otherwise a reasonably standard task; the scale and height were much larger than a ‘normal’ high school fit-out and, what is often the case as a ‘last fit’ contractor, the installation team navigated all the other services already installed.
The installation will now serve many user groups, presentations and productions in the years ahead. Michael Rafferty says “the outcome is impressive and visually imposing, due to the unusual scale”.
